TASK: Analyse the types reality as presented in some of the reality TV shows that you watch. Use Week 5’s Handout (from the Insight CD) to help you “name” these types of realities.

Reality TV
In the past decade there has been a rise in the number of ‘reality’ shows on our television screens. How many can you name?

WRITE:
• choose a particular show currently on television and discuss its features. In your discussion, consider the following: How much reality is actually shown? Is reality manipulated? Does editing or censorship distort the reality being shown? If you or others you know were part of this reality television show, how much reality you would be comfortable sharing with the public?
